Alternative Scriptwriting: Ken Dancyger & Jeff Rush

I have found an interesting chapter called Working with Genre.
It states that Genre is a form where it can be indicated as a sort of theme to the scriptwriters story. It helps appeal to the target audience who are interested in the type of subject.
There are many different types of Genres such as:
  • Horror
  • Comedy
  • Drama
  • Sci-fi
  • Romance, etc.
As a Scriptwriter, it is essential to work with Genre throughout the course of their careers. They must understand what genres are and how to work with them. It is known that scriptwriters would usually stick to one kind of genre because they might be better in that subject than other genres.
The way you can tell through what a genre is in a story is, is by finding out the storyline from the beginning, middle, end to identify it’s genre.
Genre always has it’s connections with it’s audience because it is the main reason why there is genre; it helps sum it down to what general audience appeal to.
